FOREST SCHOOLS
& OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
Forest Schools (est. 1950) seek to encourage, motivate, engage and inspire children through communication, group working and positive outdoor experiences.
At Woods for Learning we believe in offering the opportunity to everyone to
re-discover the natural environment. Our hands-on activities include safe fire skills, building shelters, creating mud art, cooking over the fire, exploring woodland, storytelling, sawing, whittling, and much, much more!
NATURE & NURTURE
Woods for Learning was established in 2014. From his own love of the natural environment, Gary Marlow wanted to create an opportunity for children and adults to explore and understand the living world around them. As a qualified teacher, Gary knew that for many young people, being in and around nature contributed hugely to both their physical and mental well-being. Woods for Learning was designed to allow complete inclusivity and as such, all of our programmes are carefully planned to cater for all abilities. Since its conception, we have delivered over 240 events, 180 bushcraft activities, adult mindfulness evenings and slept out under the stars on multiple occasions. Woods for Learning works closely with Primary, Infant, Junior & Secondary Schools to deliver a holistic, experiential learning approach, creating an ideal environment for resilience, teamwork and friendships. However, the most important part of what we do is making sure everyone involved has fun!
